牠，應該是站在房間一角，
直立的姿態，
就像一支粗的白蠟燭。

是這樣的安靜。

香港插畫家Furze Chan為Obscura Magazine主辦的展覽「Even A Small Love」擔任策展人。這是她為展覽親自縫製的布藝作品 —— 〈Penguin Islands〉—— 企鵝、企鵝蛋、與浮台一般的棉墊。

布偶用了無漂染、已洗水的帆布，
是很自然的米色，帶一點點灰，
還帶少量顆粒雜質。

比較特別是布偶裡面的填充物，
不是人造纖維，而是木棉，
仍看到裡面有一些木棉籽呢。

塞滿木棉後的布偶，
線條會順滑了很多，
摸上去會很實在，
又再重身一點點。

Color eliminated, charms diminished,

“Even A Small Love” exhibition by Obscura Magazine is curated by illustrator Furze Chan. Here's the fabric work created by her for this exhibition —— "Penguin Islands" —— Penguins, penguin eggs, and raft-like cotton pads.

She used unbleached, washed canvas to make the stuffed figures this time.
They have a very natural beige, with a little bit of gray and carry a small amount of particulate impurities.

What’s special is the stuffing of the dolls,
It’s not polyester, but rather kapok that she has managed to find!
Some kapok seeds are still visible in the stuffing.

When a figure is stuffed with kapok,
It turns out that its outline is much smoother,
It feels much more sturdy,
And a little bit heavier.
