生命之花的紙樣是含藏宇宙的一切 —— 陽光、大地、微風、流水、繁花、浮雲、星塵、你我 —— 萬物一切，相互依存。

「如果你是一位詩人，你會清楚地看到這張紙上浮著一朵雲。沒有雲，就沒有雨；沒有雨，樹木就無法生長；沒有樹，就無從造紙。紙之所以能存在，必須有雲。如果雲不在，這張紙也無法在這裡。所以我們能說，雲和紙是相即的。我們把『相即（互為緣起）』譯作interbeing，這個詞還未在字典裡出現，但如果我們把前綴inter-和動詞to be加在一起，就有了一個新的動詞：inter-be，這就是interbeing的由來。」—— 一行禪師講《心經》

生命之花的形態看起來是固定的，但如果你對它應該是什麼樣子沒有任何先入為主的想法，只是讓心在每一步中引導你，不想著要控制結果，便總會被它驚訝。在我畫下最後一顆點之前，我並不知道它會是這個模樣。我說「點」，是因為我畫的生命之花紙樣裡，所有線條和顏色都是用小點創造的。我被高我引導，不知不覺地畫成這個模樣。這一直是我與高我一起工作的模式。我曾問她為什麼，她回答：「要了解，你必須先體驗。」當我讀到一行禪師以上寫的這段話時，我便明白了那些小點是什麼：它們是星塵，我們也是星塵。我們在宇宙裡是相即共生的。缺少了任何一位，生命之花也無法完成。這就是合一的真正意義。

「一切 —— 時間、空間、大地、雨水、泥土裡的礦物、陽光、浮雲、河流、溫度，甚至我們的心識 —— 都在那張紙裡。萬物相互依存，你無法獨自存在，必須與萬物共存。這張紙如是，一切也如是。」—— 一行禪師講《心經》

“If you are a poet, you will see clearly that there is a cloud floating in this sheet of paper. Without a cloud, there can be no rain; without rain, the trees cannot grow; and without trees, we cannot make paper. The cloud is essential for the paper to exist. If the cloud is not here, the sheet of paper cannot be here either. So we can say that the cloud and the paper inter-are. ‘Interbeing’ is a word that is not in the dictionary yet, but if we combine the prefix ‘inter-’ with the verb ‘to be’, we have a new verb: inter-be.” – The Other Shore, Thich Nhat Hanh

The form of the Flower of Life (FOL) looks fixed, but if you don’t hold any preconceived ideas of how it should look like, just allow your heart to guide you in every step without the desire to control the outcome, you will always be surprised. I didn’t know it would look like this until I finished the very last dot. I say “dot” because all the lines and colors in my FOL drawings are created with tiny dots. I was guided by my higher self to draw like this without knowing why. This has always been how I work with my higher self. I have asked her why, and she replied, “In order to understand, you must first experience.” When I read the above passage written by Thich Nhat Hanh, I understood what the tiny dots are: They are stardust, and we are stardust as well. We are the interbeings in the universe. Without anyone of us, the Flower of Life cannot be completed. This is what unity truly means.

“Everything – time, space, the earth, the rain, the minerals in the soil, the sunshine, the cloud, the river, the heat, and even consciousness – is in that sheet of paper. Everything coexists with it. To be is to inter-be. You cannot just be by yourself alone; you have to inter-be with every other thing. This sheet of paper is, because everything else is.”  – The Other Shore, Thich Nhat Hanh
