Three hundred years ago, to commemorate Epiphany, Catholics in France would prepare a cake and hide inside a bean symbolizing Christ child. The person who got the piece of cake with the bean would be blessed with good fortune. The passage of time has witnessed this tradition evolving, with beans being replaced by a variety of figurines made of ceramic or plastic. This ceramic figurine shown here is modeled after one of the Magi, also referred to the Three Kings of Orient. Its round and white ceramic surface is decorated with golden lines, a manifestation of traditional culture which you touch with your hands.

三百年前法國基督徒在主顯節會準備蛋糕，並把象徵著聖嬰的豆子藏在其中，最後誰分到有豆子的那片蛋糕就能獲得好運氣。這個習俗經過時代洗禮，豆子現在換成各種瓷製或塑膠的人偶。眼前這隻瓷製人偶是東方三博士的其中一人，外表圓融的白瓷表面綴上金線，是摸得到的傳統習俗。
