A keepsake is a kind of proof, and a promise between the giver and the receiver. Recently we have invited eight creative units to participate in making artworks for our feature story, More Than A Pledge, in our 2015 Autumn/Winter edition. These artists defined, in their own unique way, what their imagined keepsakes would be like, thus becoming this series – Objects of Love – which is now sold exclusively here on Obscura online store.

This set of light bulb installation is a one-off limited item, made by O.Works. It composes of two rectangular wooden boxes, two elongated light bulbs and dried flowers, which resembles the dragon and phoenix candles used in a Chinese wedding ceremony. Here is what the creator said about this piece:

“Day gives night hope and night, in turn, rests and recuperates for the sake of tomorrow. Within this repeated cycle of day and night, they exist side by side, closely bound together and stretching out over a lifetime. In a relationship, light also always presents itself in the company of darkness. Love is about giving and love can serve as the lamp that lights the way for the other – illuminating each other, offering guidance and encouragement.”

信物是個憑證，也是發送者與接收者之間的承諾。我們早陣子請來八組創作單位，參與創作《Obscura》2015秋冬季號專題《MORE THAN A PLEDGE》的作品，以各自的方式，勾勒出信物的輪廓，成為這一系列名為「Objects of Love」的藝術品於Obscura網上商店獨家發售。

這組燈泡裝置信物，限量一件，香港設計團隊O.Works創作，其起用了兩個長型木盒、兩盞長型燈泡，配合她製作的乾花襯底，形象宛如中國婚嫁儀式中出現的龍鳳燭。她說：「日給予夜希望，夜為明日作休養生息，反覆交替，緊扣並存，延綿成為一生。關係如是，光明總是展現在黑暗當中，愛是給予，愛能為對方一路上作燈火，互相照亮，指引共勉。」
